Privacy Policy for Bimaru

Bimaru ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Bimaru app collects, how it is used, when it may be shared, and what choices you have.

This policy applies to the Bimaru mobile app and related features, including daily puzzle reminders, puzzle sharing, in-app purchases, and purchase restoration.

2. What Bimaru Does

Bimaru is a puzzle game. You can play daily puzzles and library puzzles, save your progress on your device, share puzzle challenges with friends, and optionally buy puzzle bundles or Pro access.

Bimaru does not require you to create an account to play.

3. Information We Collect

We collect or process the following categories of information:

A. Information stored on your device

Bimaru stores game-related data locally on your device, such as:

  • puzzle progress
  • solved status
  • moves and times
  • favorites or likes inside the app
  • purchased bundle ownership status
  • reminder preference
  • language and theme settings
  • review-prompt timing data
  • other app preferences needed for gameplay

This information is stored locally so the app can work properly and remember your progress and settings. This information is stored locally on your phone and not sent to any server or third party applications.

B. Notification permission and reminder settings

If you choose to enable daily puzzle reminders, Bimaru requests notification permission from your device. If permission is granted, the app schedules a local reminder on your device.

Bimaru uses this only to send your chosen daily puzzle reminder. We do not use notification permission for advertising.

C. Purchase-related information

If you buy Pro access or puzzle bundles, the app processes purchase-related information such as:

  • product ID
  • transaction ID
  • receipt or purchase token
  • entitlement status
  • restore-purchase status

Purchases are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play, not directly by Bimaru.

In production purchase flows, Bimaru may also use a locally generated installation identifier to help verify purchases and restore entitlements.

D. Sharing and invite data

If you use sharing features, Bimaru may generate a challenge link containing puzzle or challenge-related metadata so another user can open the shared challenge.

If you choose to share, the content is handled through your device's sharing tools.

E. Support and feedback information

If you contact support by email or use feedback/report features, we may receive:

  • your email address
  • the message you send
  • technical details you choose to include
  • puzzle-related technical info copied into the message for troubleshooting

F. Store review actions

If you choose to rate the app, Bimaru may open the relevant App Store or Google Play review page or use the in-app review feature made available by the platform.

4. What We Do Not Currently Collect

Based on the current version of the app, Bimaru does not currently use:

  • advertising SDKs
  • third-party analytics SDKs
  • cross-app tracking
  • user accounts
  • social login
  • precise location
  • contacts
  • photos
  • microphone
  • camera

Bimaru is not designed to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

5. How We Use Information

We use information only as needed to operate and improve the app, including to:

  • run the puzzle game
  • save your progress and settings
  • send local daily reminders if you enable them
  • process and restore purchases
  • verify purchase entitlements
  • let you share challenges with friends
  • provide support and troubleshoot issues
  • prompt for app reviews at appropriate times

6. Legal Basis for Processing

Depending on where you live, our legal basis may include:

  • performing our contract with you by providing the app and its features
  • your consent, where required, for example for notifications
  • our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the app
  • compliance with legal obligations

7. When We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share limited information only in the following situations:

A. Apple App Store and Google Play

If you make a purchase, purchase-related information is processed through the platform provider.

B. Service providers or backend purchase verification

If production purchase verification or entitlement services are enabled, limited purchase-related information and a device installation identifier may be sent to our backend or service providers to verify purchases, grant entitlements, prevent duplicate processing, and support restore-purchase functionality.

C. Support communications

If you email us, your email provider and ours will process that communication in the normal way.

D. Legal reasons

We may disclose information if required by law or if necessary to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the app.

8. Data Retention

On-device data

Game progress, preferences, and reminder settings are generally kept on your device until you delete them, reset the app, or uninstall the app.

Support emails

If you contact support, we may retain those communications for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, troubleshoot, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations.

Purchase records and entitlement data

Purchase and entitlement records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to verify purchases, restore entitlements, prevent fraud, comply with tax/accounting obligations, and resolve support issues.

9. Your Choices

You can:

  • disable daily reminders in the app settings or in your device notification settings
  • stop sharing content by not using the sharing features
  • uninstall the app to remove locally stored app data from your device
  • contact us to ask privacy-related questions

Please note that uninstalling the app removes local app data on the device, but does not automatically remove purchase records held by Apple, Google, or any backend systems used for purchase verification.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • access your personal data
  • correct inaccurate data
  • request deletion
  • object to certain processing
  • restrict certain processing
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

Because most Bimaru gameplay data is stored locally on your own device, some requests may be most effectively handled by deleting the app or clearing local app data on your device.

11. Children's Privacy

Bimaru is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us at support_bimaru@pm.me and we will review the request.

12. International Data Transfers

If you contact us or if production purchase verification services are used, your information may be processed in countries outside your own. Where required, we will take reasonable steps to use appropriate safeguards.

13. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information that is processed through the app and related services. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

14. Third-Party Services

Bimaru may rely on third-party platform services such as:

  • Apple App Store
  • Google Play
  • Apple in-app review tools
  • Google Play review flows
  • device email and sharing tools
  • device notification systems

Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies and terms.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
